This is stuff from my latest batch. It's not up for sale yet, because I need to have SOMETHING to show at the Art & Wine Walk show on October 10th! But I promise I will put whatever is left on Etsy by the 12th, and I'm working on a new batch, ETA mid-November.
015-04 Blotto the Mug. large (2-cup) mug with blotchy blue glaze over purple. This new blue glaze just gave me fits, but it kinda works on this guy.
|
015-07 Stan the small (6-inch diameter by 1.75-inch deep) bowl for putting your change and keys into. His glaze crawled away in spots, leaving textured brown (still glazed!) areas, like you see on the lower right. The glaze also ran down toward the foot of the bowl on the outside, leaving the base thicker than I'd like.
|
015-05 Set of six teacups, each holding just shy of one cup. One-finger handles. Can be sold in smaller sets. The glaze dripped down the bases of some of them, as you can see, but they ground down easily and still sit well.
015-11 Largish critter bowl. Holds maybe 5 cups? Moderately splotchy, mostly on the chin and inside. Splotches are purple.
015-12 Angry Scotsman Bowl. Large (7 inches diameter?) open bowl, nice shape. Mustachioed fellow inside. Brown glaze did not come through the beige at all.
015-16 Purple Sponge Dragon. Smallish - holds a standard bar of soap of a sponge on the small side.Very nice reddish-purple glaze.
|
015-17 Slightly Different Purple Sponge Dragon. Not actually the same dragon as the one on the left. Larger mouth, more tilt to the body, and a blueish purple glaze. And no wings.
|
015-13 Norman the smallish (1.5 cups?) grumpy mug. Designed after Norma, who had a terrible accident.
015-19 Pale blue grumpy mug. Small- holds one cup, barely. More of a teacup, I'd say.
015-21 Blotchy blue grumpy mug. Also about one cup.
|
015-20 Purple grumpy mug. Also quite small.
015-22 Large pale blue grumpy mug. Holds 1-5 cups, 2-3 finger handle. (One arm on purpose, BTW. Some folks find two handles awkward.)
|
015-23 Cephalomug. 1.5-cup capacity, 1-2-finger handle. Awesome heathery purple glaze with no drips. I think they call this "haresfur" effect. I'm going to be using this combo a lot.
015-25 Squiddy monster mug. Same size as Cephalomug, above. Slightly roomier handle. A few minor drips on the tentacles, but they kind of work.
015-26 Inky Squid monster mug. Similar to Squiddy, but with that blue glaze that crawls away from the purple glaze underneath. There is some blue on his left eyeball, and his left side is bluer than his right.
015-27 Big alien pot. Holds maybe six cups? I haven't measured yet. The glaze dripped down the foot of the pot and off the rim of the lid, as you can see in the picture on the left. Works fine, though. The lid is a decent, but not perfect, fit, partly because I didn't fire it on the pot (luckily), and partly because I'm not that great at measuring.
015-28 Four-legged bowl. The lid didn't really fit this one, so it's just an open bowl. Holds probably four cups - good for ramen, or lots of cereal. The glaze worked out really well - for all the dripping catastrophes, this one dripped exactly how I wanted it to inside!
015-08 Grumpy bowl. Speaking of glaze disasters, I snapped off this guy's leg trying to grind down the glaze that had run down from his leg onto the kiln shelf. Thank God for kiln wash, or I'd have lost three or four shelves to this cursed blue glaze. His leg is superglued on, so he is not dishwasher or small-child safe.
015-10 Green grump. Holds 1.5 cups, probably. My last glaze-grinding casualty. One rear leg superglued back on. I love this glaze BECAUSE it runs, I just didn't thin it out enough towards the bottom, apparently.
|
015-09 Blotchy sponge dragon, also with a superglued broken leg. Argh. Check out those pools of glaze at his feet. Seriously, the test run of this glaze worked great, I don't know what happened!
015-01 Alien pot, small. This has been sold. It's a commissioned remake of another one I sold at Art Fest. I'm just putting it here because it turned out rather nice.

One more photo! These are some wind chimes I haven't strung up yet. They each have four tentacles, which hang up inside their heads. They sound pretty nice, but since they are made of clay, I would recommend keeping them indoors in case of windstorms (or, as we call them in North Dakota, weather.)
